# The Stratum preset

Stratum comes with one preset, also called Stratum, with its own look and a ready-made home page.

A **preset** is a starting point: a set of theme settings plus a ready-made home page. Stratum comes with one preset, also called **Stratum**, which is applied when you add the theme. It uses only the theme's own sections, so you can change anything afterwards.

## The Stratum home page

The order follows the way shoppers make up their minds: orient, discover, decide, trust, return.

1. **Hero** with one clear call to action (no carousel).
2. **Shop by category**: eight category tiles.
3. **Services**: delivery, returns, trade pricing and more, before shoppers start browsing.
4. **Popular right now**: tabbed collections.
5. **Gift guide** with price chips.
6. **Shop the look**: a shoppable room scene.
7. **Promotion cards**.
8. **Product finder**: a short quiz for shoppers who aren't sure what to buy.
9. **Comparison tabs** ("Which pan material?").
10. **Featured product** with its own buy box.
11. **Size guide**.
12. **Feature list** for the featured product.
13. **Before and after**.
14. **New this month** product row.
15. **Top 10 this week**: a ranked bestseller list.
16. **Scrolling testimonials**.
17. **Logo list** of the makers you stock.
18. **Video with chapters**.
19. **Shoppable recipe** (product bundle).
20. **Blog posts**.
21. **Customer photos** (image gallery).
22. **Store locator** teaser.
23. **FAQ**.
24. **Newsletter**.
25. **Recently viewed**.

## Replace the demo content

The preset installs real copy and settings, so check these before you launch:

* **Placeholders to replace**: testimonial quotes and names, brand names in the logo wall, store addresses and team names start as instructions ("Add a real quote from a customer…"). Only publish real quotes and real details.
* **Policies mentioned in the copy**: delivery cut-off times, return windows and the "−8% / −15%" in the Stratum promotion card describe policies you must actually offer. Edit them to match yours.
* **Products and collections**: collection settings start on your **All** collection. Hotspots, product finder results, the featured product and bundle products show placeholders until you pick your own products.

{% hint style="info" %}
The preset doesn't use the **Countdown** or the **Slideshow** section; both are available if you want them. See [Home page and content sections](/building-pages/home-page.md).
{% endhint %}

## Changing the look later

The preset only applies when you add the theme. After that, every setting in the table above is yours to change: **Theme settings › Buttons**, **Layout**, **Typography**, **Product cards** and the button colors in **Colors**. For example, a store selling mainly to trade buyers might switch to **Rounded** buttons with **Simple shade**, a wider page and an always-visible card button, then add the **Quick order** and **Volume pricing calculator** sections to the home page.
